What are we waiting for?
Everyone is waiting for something. And even though there are common themes, because we all live our own lives, we’re all waiting for something different. Waiting is difficult, and we aren’t getting any better at it. In fact, we’re probably getting worse. And it’s one thing if you’re waiting for a coffee, but what if you’re waiting for something more significant?
If it’s a boy or a girl? Finding out whether you got the job? Whether the tumor is malignant or benign? The more important the question, the harder it is to wait.
Advent is a season of waiting, and it’s a reminder that all of our waiting ultimately leads us to Jesus. By the time Jesus came, Israel had been waiting for centuries. But now, Jesus has come for everyone who will call on His name and the Bible teaches us that there is NOTHING that can separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Jesus.
Everybody is waiting for something, but the real question is…What are we WAITING for?
